Absorbents are the compound that absorbs liquid. The water is confined in small intestine if the oral absorbent is consumed orally and it also makes the stool of diarrhea less watery. The bacteria generate toxic chemicals that are confined by the oral absorbents that can cause the small intestine to secrete liquid. In any way, the significance of poisonous bind is not clear.
Attapulgite and polycardophill are the two main absorbents and they are easily available without consulting the doctor. The products or medicines that are having attapulgite are Donnagel, Diasorb and Pheaban. Another product that is containing attapulgite is Equilactine. The laxative and konsyl also mixed with attapulgite.
There will be no side effect outside the gastrointestinal tract if attapulgite and polycardophill stay in the intestine. It may happen that the person will suffer from bloating and constipation.
The absorbents bind the medicines and interfere with its swallowing in the body. For this concern, it is recommended that medicines and absorbents should be taken many a times in a day so that they are apart within the intestine.
