Some people do not take constipation seriously, but one of the facts is that constipation can also lead to many complications. Some of the complications which are generally happened due to constipation include pain in bowel movements, anal fissures, haemorrhoids etc.
Some of treatments of haemorrhoids include use of ice packs or special creams around the affected area. Some times warm tube baths are also used in the treatment of haemorrhoids. In case of anal fissures , tissue or skin in the affected area are generally removed through surgical process. Due to straining, sometimes small amount of intestinal lining push out from the anal opening and lead to secretion of mucus from the anus. This Condition is known as Rectal prolapse.

Faecal impaction is an another condition occurs due to constipation. Faecal impaction results in harder stool, due to which intestine and rectum are so tightly packed, that person cannot expel the stool by the normal pushing action of the colon. This condition often found in small children and older adults. Constipation can also result in crack or tears in the anus. This condition called abrasions or fissures.

Frequent use of laxatives can also develop lazy bowel syndrome in which bowel movements completely dependent on laxatives to perform its function properly. In fact, excessive use of laxative can also lead to number problems such as poor absorption of vitamins and other nutrients, damage to your intestinal tract and worsening constipation.
