Constipation - Some Prevention Tips

Follow these steps in your daily life to prevent yourself from the problem of constipation. Some of the tips include:
- Eat fiber Diet regularly – Eat those foods which have lot of fiber content in it. High-fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans and whole-grain cereals and breads generally help you in reducing various types of stomach problem such as gas, constipation, diarrhea, bloating etc.
- Limit Fat foods – Avoid those Foods that are rich in oil and sugar as they generate lots of fats in the body as well as they generally have low in fiber content. Food item such as ice cream, cheese and processed foods, may cause constipation.
- Drink plenty of liquids – Drink necessary amount of water and other fluids every Day. Water is necessary for the functioning of the various organs of the body. It is also helpful in curing the problem of constipation.
- Increase physical activity - Regular exercise, such as walking, biking or swimming etc also helpful in prevention from the problem of constipation.
- Don’t avoid the urge - The longer you delay going to the toilet once you feel the urge, the more water that’s absorbed from stool and the harder it becomes.
- Fiber supplements – You can also use various types of fiber supplements and over-the-counter products such as Metamucil and Citrucel which can help in keeping the stool soft and regular. If you are using fiber supplements, then drink plenty of water and other fluids every day, otherwise these fiber supplements may cause constipation and sometimes make the condition worse.
- Don’t rely on stimulant laxatives – More use of stimulant laxative can cause muscle contractions in the intestines which later result constipation worse.
- Develop regular bowel habits
- Avoid those medications which generally cause constipation. Your can take advice from your doctor in this regard.

Get tips post. Also, women may want to really pay attention to your constipation prevention tips when their estrogen levels rise, since this hormonal flunctuation can provoke constipation.
