Food Poisoning: Cause of Acute Diarrhea

Food poisoning is another cause of acute diarrhea. It generally happens due to toxins produced by the bacteria and cause abdominal cramps, vomiting and some times patient generally lose large amount of fluids which results in diarrhea. Some bacteria contaminated the food before it is consumed by someone while some bacteria directly effect in the intestine after the food is eaten.
Symptoms of diarrhea caused by food poisoning appear within few minutes or it may take many hours or days to show its effect. When somebody eaten the contaminated food i.e. bacteria produce toxins in the food before it is eaten by somebody, then the symptoms generally appear within few hours but when bacteria produce toxin directly in the intestine after the food is eaten, then it usually takes 7 or more hours to show its symptoms.
Staphylococcus aureus is a type of bacterium which generally contaminates the food, left un-refrigerated for long hours. It generally produces toxins in the food before it is eaten by somebody. Staphylococcal bacterium is a type of bacterium which generally multiplies in the food and produce toxins in the food. Clostridium porringers is a Gram-positive, anaerobic, rod-shaped, spore-forming bacterium of the genus Clostridium. This bacterium produces toxins in small intestine when somebody eats the contaminated food.
