Gas Symptoms

One of the causes of tummy ache is the problem of gas. Generally people suffering from gas feel pain in tummy. Some times this pain is mild and some times it is severe. So first identify the symptoms of pain and then take its treatment. Belching, flatulence, abdominal bloating, and abdominal pain are some of the symptoms of gas.
It is not necessary that these symptoms are experienced by all the person, generally these symptoms depends upon various factors like quantity of fatty acids absorb by the body, how much gas produces by the body and how much a person is sensitive to gas.
The various symptoms of gas are:
1) Belching – Generally during or after eating the meal people belch occasionally, but if a person belched from very long period, then their may be a possibility of upper GI disorder like gastritis, ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Some times the pain continues or worsens which may signal about some serious disorders. Meganblase syndrome and gas bloat syndrome are two syndromes which associated with bleaching.
2) Flatulence – This problem is generally related to passing too much gas through rectum. Malabsorption of carbohydrate and over active bacteria in the colon also produces too much gas. Generally Passing 14 to 23 times in a day is normal.
3) Abdominal bloating - Generally people think that, bloating in abdominal is caused by too much gas, but it is mainly a result of abnormal movement and contraction of intestinal muscles. Doctor generally thinks that abdominal bloating is a result of intestinal motility disorder, like IBS. Trapped gas at bends in the colon causes Splenic-flexure syndrome. Muscle spasms, bloating and upper abdominal discomfort are the symptoms of this. Abdominal bloating is also caused by intestinal obstruction like colon cancer, if people had many operations of intestine and sometimes excess eating of lot of foods.
4) Abdominal pain and discomfort - Abdominal pain some times create a wrong perception of other disease. When people feel pain on the left hand side of abdominal, they relate it with the heart disease and if they feel pain on right side of abdominal then people relate it with appendicitis. But actually this pain is caused by the gas present in the intestine.
