Symptoms of Diarrhea

There are various symptoms of diarrhea. One of the major symptoms of diarrhea is, when a patient getting unusual, frequent and watery bowel movements. Diarrhea is the opposite of constipation.
When a patient is suffering from the problem of diarrhea then he generally feels cramp in the abdominal. Nausea and bloating are the other symptoms of diarrhea. Sometimes person may also be suffering from fever and get blood in the stool.
Diarrhea can be of short term or long term. Short term Diarrhea is also known as acute diarrhea where as long term diarrhea is known as chronic diarrhea. Acute diarrhea is generally caused by viruses, bacteria and parasites which can be cure in less than four weeks. Chronic diarrhea is just opposite of acute diarrhea which is related to functional disorder of tummy like inflammatory bowel diseases etc. It can take more time to cure, generally more than 4 weeks.
If diarrhea is severed, then you must visit the doctor as soon as possible as it leads to the disease called dehydration. If diarrhea persists more than 4 weeks, or patient is suffering from high fever or get blood in stool, then in that case medical treatment is necessary.
