During an appendectomy, an incision is made through the skin and the layers of the abdominal wall over the appendix part. The surgeon enters into the abdomen for the appendix. The procedure for the removal of appendix is that the surgeon frees the appendix from its mesenteric attachment to the abdomen and colon which gashing it from the colon and then stitch over the hole in colon.

An appendectomy is the removal of the vermiform appendix through surgery. During an appendectomy, two to three inches of cutting is made through the skin and the layers of the abdominal on the area of the appendix. The surgeon makes an entry inside the abdomen and searches for the appendix which is generally located at the right lower abdomen. The appendix will be removed only after he carefully examined the part to assure that no other trouble persists. The process for doing it goes like this. First is the removal of appendix from its mesenteric attachment to the abdomen and colon, then incising the appendix from the colon and stitching over the hole in the colon. If an abscess will prevail then pus can drain passing from the abscess and exit through the skin. The abdominal cutting is closed afterwards.
