Appendicitis is a severe situation in which appendix pours with pus and get inflamed. Any person who is in the age group of 10 to 30 could be a sufferer of appendicitis. The treatment for the appendicitis is the removal of the appendix through operation. There are some complications of appendicitis that need to be taken care of positively.

The most serious complication of appendicitis is appendix perforation that can cause a mass allocation of pus (periappendiceal abscess) and inflammation of the boundary of abdomen and pelvis (diffuse peritonitis). The main reason for the appendiceal perforation is the prolonged time for the right diagnose and treatment. It is better not to make unnecessary delays for the treatment of appendicitis.

Blockage of the intestine is also another complication of appendicitis. It happens when the appendix surrounds with redness that can stop the working of the intestinal muscle. Once the intestine pours with gas and liquid, abdomen will be stretched out and vomiting and nausea will start to occur.

The last but the not the least complication of appendicitis is sepsis. This is a severe condition in which the infecting bacteria will enter the blood and spread to the whole body. Luckily, the occurrence of sepsis is very less.
