Understanding Toddler Diarrhea

Toddler diarrhea is a common condition found in infants or small children. In case of infants this diarrhea refer to as chronic diarrhea of infancy where as in case of older children it is known as irritable bowel syndrome. Some of the characteristic of toddler diarrhea include:
- It happens to the children between the age group of 6 months to 3 years.
- Children generally suffering from 2 to 6 watery stools per day and it can be also possible that don’t have stools for periods of days.
- Stool may contain undigested material.
- Some times there is no evidence of infection in the children.
- Stools are hematest negative.
- Condition of children looks well and there is no history of malnutrition and tummy disorder.
- Some times it happens to the children when there is a family history of irritable bowel syndrome, colic and gastroesophogeal reflux.
- There is a normal weight, height, and head circumference growth curves in the children.
